𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐬 𝐮𝐩, 𝐍𝐘𝐂 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬!

Starting January 1, 2027, residential buildings with natural gas piping, including apartment buildings and non-owner-occupied one- and two-family homes, 𝐖𝐈𝐋𝐋 𝐁𝐄 𝐑𝐄𝐐𝐔𝐈𝐑𝐄𝐃 to have natural gas detectors installed in every dwelling unit.

These detectors can provide an early warning of a gas leak, helping prevent dangerous fires and explosions. Be sure that any detector you purchase meets the required UL safety standards.

The NYC Department of Buildings and National Grid are also hosting outreach events and offering a limited number of FREE detectors to small property owners on a first-come, first-served basis. Please stay tuned for info on these events.

And remember, if you smell gas or your detector goes off, leave the area immediately and call 911 from a safe location!

Last weekend I stood with John Cori, Thomas P. Sullivan, and a number of Rockaway residents who came out in the rain to make it clear to the NYC DOT: the residents of Rockaway Beach do not want meters on Shore Front Parkway.

Yesterday, I was on scene in Glendale with NYC Water to address the flooding concerns we have been hearing about from residents and meet with homeowners to discuss their experiences. I am pleased to announce that there is an $81 Million investment being made to mitigate flooding issues in Glendale.

We will be learning more about the plan at the November 19th Meeting of the Glendale Property Owners Association Meeting. Please be sure to attend if you live in the east Glendale area.

My friends from ACE New York were hard at work along 101st Avenue in Ozone Park recently, keeping the busy commercial strip looking its best.

Having these dedicated individuals out there regularly sweeping up litter is a key component of providing local residents with the quality of life they deserve. That was a promise I made when I ran for office, and with the help of groups like ACE, it is a promise I am delivering on.

Thank you for all that you do, ACE! Your work is so very appreciated!

Last night my constituent liaison Jessica attended the monthly meeting of the NYPD 106 Precinct Community Council, where Officer Isis Mosquera Montano, Officer Anthony Jones, and Officer Andrew Carroll were presented with the Community Council’s Cop of the Month award for their response in apprehending the perpetrators of a knifepoint robbery at a CVS.

Having staff serving as my eyes and ears at these meetings is so important because it lets me stay directly plugged in to the issues facing my constituents at the ground level. Thank you for attending, Jessica! And thank you for having us, 106th Pct Community Council!

The "most transparent administration ever" has been blocking FOIL requests pertaining to a court case I am the lead plaintiff on since JANUARY.

I am glad that the Manhattan Institute is joining in this fight to shine a light on what this administration really is.

Just like we've seen with the signal chat influencers, the mayor and his cronies are desperate to put on a fake face to the public and manipulate their social media image. And if that means blocking legally required document releases, then that's what they will do.

Such transparency!

City Hall is making “a mockery of open government, at least when it comes to the administration’s relationship with the Jewish community,” attorney Jack Lester told JNS.

Last month my office had an on-site meeting at the underpass of the 9/11 “Bulldog” mural in Woodhaven with the NYPD, NYC Department of Homeless Services, Breaking Ground, the NYC DOT, the New York City Department of Sanitation, Community Board 9, Queens and the Woodhaven Residents' Block Association to address the homeless encampment and getting help for the individuals there, as well as to address the quality of life concerns the situation causes for residents and business owners in the community.

The DOT came up with an idea to install bike racks along the wall to encourage these individuals to take the help from breaking ground and stop them from setting up an encampment in front of a 9/11 mural. Two weeks later, however, and for possibly the first time in their history the DOT decided that they didnt want to place bike racks in the area to help the situation.

These individuals refuse services. The city is refusing to remove them, and the NYPD now has its hands tied when it comes to these encampments. So my question now, Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani, what are we supposed to do about this? It isn’t fair to the people in the neighborhood, and it isn’t fair to these individuals to just allow them to keep living on the streets like this - so what is your plan?

Some good news for pet owners: starting Monday, October 19, 22 food pantries across the city will begin offering free dog and cat food to New Yorkers in need. 🐾

As a member of the City Council’s Animal Welfare Caucus, I’m proud to see this finally becoming a reality. Groceries, rent, and everyday bills are stretching household budgets, and feeding our pets is another expense that adds up. Nobody should have to give up a four-legged family member because they’ve fallen on hard times, and this new program will help ensure that doesn't have to happen.
