Montcalm County Housing Commission PHA agency that administers HUD Public Housing and Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8) rental assistance.

The overall objective of the Montcalm County Housing Commission hereinafter referred to as (PHA) is to provide housing for low-income families that is decent, safe, sanitary, and in good repair, on a continuing basis. The PHA's residents play an important role in the PHA's ability to accomplish this mission. Selection and approval of housing residents and their continued occupancy of units affects

rental income, maintenance of dwelling units, safety and security of residents and PHA employees, and the impressions or perceptions that the PHA makes on the general public. Montcalm County Housing Commission administers (2) two HUD programs: Public Housing Program - 1/2/3 bedroom units in Howard City; Housing Choice Voucher Program (aka: Section 8) - rent with a private landlord in Montcalm County, 30 miles radius from the office, Ionia & Isabella county. MCHC does NOT have Emergency Housing, it works from a waiting list.
