Children's Care Corner

We are the only licensed and registered daycare in Miner County. We currently have 52 children enrolled. We have 18 full time and part time employees.

We have separate rooms for our babies, toddlers and preschoolers. We have child size tables, chairs and toilet facilities.

💜 Today we say “see you later” to a very special member of our Children’s Care Corner family, Ms. Ashley! 💜

Ashley began her journey with us as an infant room assistant two days a week before transitioning into our preschool classrooms, where she worked alongside Ms. Stephanie and Ms. Mishelle. Throughout her time here, she brought so much knowledge, passion, creativity, and love to our center. Her ideas, teaching strategies, and attention grabbers will continue to be used in our classrooms for years to come.

What makes Ashley even more impressive is that she balanced working full-time while attending full-time online classes at DSU, pursuing her degree in Early Childhood Education. Her dedication to both her education and the children she cared for never went unnoticed.

Today is Ashley’s last day with us as she continues her educational journey at Northern in Aberdeen, her hometown. While we are sad to see her go, we are incredibly grateful for the impact she has made on our children, families, and staff over the past semester.

Ashley, thank you for the countless hugs, smiles, lessons, and memories. Your future classrooms will be incredibly lucky to have you, and the children whose lives you touch throughout your career will be better because of it.

Please help us wish Ms. Ashley the very best as she begins this exciting new chapter! We know she has a bright future ahead of her. 💕🍎📚

First day of Camp Inspiration was a success! ☀️🚲☕️

Fueled by caffeine from The Salty Mare this morning — HUGE thank you to them for helping us power through the first day of camp!!

Today we went through camp rules & expectations, safety drills, bike laws, practiced biking together as a group, and played lots of fun icebreaker games to kick off the summer!

Brooklyn, Kelsi, and Hannah started the day off STRONG in this 90° weather! 🌞👏

And another BIG thank you to The Salty Mare for always keeping us caffeinated on Tuesdays! We are so lucky to have a coffee truck visit our community each week. ☕️

✨✨A few weeks ago during Teacher Appreciation Week, The Salty Mare also graciously donated ALL 12 of our staff members a free coffee, Lotus, or caffeine-free drink. Their support and kindness toward our staff never goes unnoticed, and we are incredibly grateful! ❤️✨✨

Today was the perfect way to kick off summer camp — sunshine, bikes, laughter, and a little espresso in our blood.

On Friday, we celebrated eight of our preschoolers who will be heading off to the big school this fall! 🎓🍎

I am incredibly blessed by the teachers who poured so much love, patience, and dedication into their classroom this year. Miss Stephanie and Miss Ashley went above and beyond to help prepare these kiddos for kindergarten, working hard throughout the year to build the skills and confidence needed to meet elementary readiness standards.

These students have exceeded expectations in so many ways, and we could not be prouder of how much they have grown academically, socially, and emotionally this year.

Please help us congratulate our eight preschool graduates shown below! We cannot wait to see all the amazing things they accomplish in this next chapter. ❤️

This week at Children’s Care Corner, we celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week with a summertime picnic theme and gifts for our incredible teachers and assistant teachers! ☀️🧺💙💚

Our staff go above and beyond every single day; whether it’s staying late to help cover ratios, coming in early so another staff member can head home sick, stepping into another classroom to lend an extra hand, or helping make all of our family events and activities possible. The teamwork, flexibility, and love they pour into our center never go unnoticed.

Early Childhood Education is so much more than child care. These teachers are helping shape the future of Miner County through patience, guidance, learning, compassion, and care each and every day.

This year, our appreciation gifts included a cooler, picnic blanket, coozie, umbrella, snacks, and a drink! We hope each of our staff members can take a little time this summer to relax and enjoy an outdoor gathering with family and friends, they deserve it. ☀️

I cannot express enough gratitude for this amazing team. I am incredibly blessed to work alongside such hardworking, dedicated, and loving people.

💜 Teacher Appreciation is NEXT WEEK!💚

At CCC, we’re not just a daycare; we’re early childhood teachers!
Our staff use developmental knowledge, intentional teaching strategies, and early learning standards to support language growth, social-emotional development, independence, and school readiness. Every interaction is a purposeful learning opportunity that helps build the foundation for lifelong success.

Our center hours also go far beyond a typical school day, and our staff consistently show up with patience, energy, and heart; often working long hours to care for and teach the children of our community.

We’d love to take next week to truly recognize and appreciate each and every one of them for the hard work they pour into every child, every single day. 💛

We want to take a moment to recognize a very special transition at Children’s Care Corner.

Diane Stangohr has officially retired from providing CPR and First Aid training. Diane has been a dedicated partner to our center for many years, offering affordable training and ensuring our staff stayed up to date with state requirements. Her commitment, care, and support for CCC have truly made a lasting impact, and we are so grateful for all she has done.

State regulations require CPR certification within the first 90 days of employment, and CDA-credentialed teachers must also maintain First Aid certification. We are proud to share that, with the training and guidance Diane helped inspire, our Director, Abby Kramer, has completed her certification and will now be providing CPR and First Aid training for all current and future CCC employees.

This will allow us to continue meeting all state requirements while keeping training accessible and cost-effective for our team.

Abby, thank you for dedicating your time to complete the training through Avera in Yankton with the American Heart Association. Your passion for keeping our staff current with training, certifications, and safety standards shows your commitment to going above and beyond for our children, staff, and program.

Diane, thank you for your many years of commitment, care, and dedication to CCC. It has never gone unnoticed. We wish you all the best as you enjoy this well-deserved time with your family. 💛
