Howard Fire Department can not thank you enough for the support at the July 4th event this year. It was a great day for community support and to celebrate 250 years. We hope everybody had a great time and look forward to next year.

In weeks past we had a handful of firemen complete EVOC(Emergency Vehicle Operator Course) training. EVOC training is the practical training of operating our vehicles to respond to calls in a safe manner. Firemen learned great skills during this training. Thank you firemen for the training commitment!!

If Miner County is classified as Very High or Extreme danger, we are in a burn ban.

There will be a ban on open burning that will be enforced immediately and autonomously when the National Weather Service has declared a Red Flag Warning in Miner County or when the Grassland Fire Danger Rating in Miner County reaches Very High or Extreme.
