City of Howard has contacted East River Electric. There is an issue in the Fedora area. As soon as this issue is fixed, power should be restored to the Howard area. They did not give us a time frame as to when the power will be restored.

The electrical issues we are having right now are East River electrical issues and may continue for a few hours until they can get it fixed. We will try to keep you updated or let you know if we begin to experience issues with city lines.

Miner County Emergency Management has opened up Winter Brothers Concrete (area north of campground) for people to be able to fill sand bags for your own purposes. You can come and get what you need. The lot does have water in it so if you want to fill some sand bags, we would suggest wearing boots!!

Because of the storm and melting snow causing flooding issues, the city is seeing a strain on the wastewater treatment system. We are asking people to limit their water usage to allow the system to catch up.
Reminder: sump pumps should drain outside to yards or streets rather than into the sanitary sewer system.

With the predicted rain/snow in the forecast, the City will be moving snow away from the curbs to help uncover the storm drains and to create a drainage system to help prevent water build up and help prevent some flooding issues. Some side streets may have small wind rows of snow moved away from the curb to help create a drainage system to get the water to flow.

Important Announcements: #1 with the current weather we have been experiencing, the streets in town are extremely slippery. Please use extreme caution while driving. #2 the gravel road on N Dakota St is CLOSED until further notice.

Please be advised: with the wind blowing today and still blowing now, and with the additional snowfall this evening, the streets on the outskirts of town are starting to fill in and may become difficult to travel through. We will open them in the morning.
