It is with mixed emotions that I announce my retirement. Many of you already know that my last day as Library Director was June 30. I will very much miss seeing the students and the families who love the library as much as I do. Torrey Stricklin will begin on August 1st. I’m sure you’ll make her feel as welcome as you made me! Now it’s time to go make quilts, travel, and READ!!

Even though the Summer activities (programs and crafts) are over, the Reading Challenge continues through July. Read every day, come in once each week and tell us, then claim your prizes: a free book, a local Sonic coupon, a brag tag, AND your name in our Grand Prize drawing. We’re giving away a $50 gift card to the lucky winner in each of 4 age groups, infants through however old you claim to be! See you soon at the library!

The Texas A&M Chemistry Road Show is coming to Howe! Mark your calendar for Thursday, 6/30, at 11:00. It’ll be at the middle school gym. If you don’t know where that is, come to the library and follow the signs. Everyone is welcome (except I’ve heard that the explosions have been known to make babies cry), and it’s free!!
