Attention residents. S &J Asphalt will be out this week and Sunday, November 11th to complete crack sealing and patching on our roads. We apologize for any inconvenience, but this is a necessity to keep our roads longer and avoid having to have them completely redone.

As a reminder we will be having our annual HOA meeting this Wednesday at 7:00 at the Oceola township hall. We have 2 board seats up for election as well as discussing the pool. If you are not able to attend, please fill out your proxy and provide to a neighbor that will be attending. We look forward to seeing you there.

We hope all is well with everyone as spring approaches. There has been questions regarding the beaver dam removal, so we wanted to update everyone.

The board was contacted by Oceola township to remove the beaver dam since it was damaging property and buildings that are south of our sub. We had to get a permit from the DEQ to have it removed. We contracted an approved company to remove it, had another company add traps. Since removal of the dam, the beavers have been attempting to rebuild the dam. A couple of our board members (and their families) have been trying to go there daily to take out what the beavers put in the previous night to avoid having to contract another company to remove it again.

Gun range update:

We have contacted an independent attorney for guidance. He stated that we should contact our management company (which will be done tomorrow) about the gun range and have the association attorney handle it. He did recommend that residents complain to the township individually about a noise complaint. Please be specific with date, time and duration of shooting. We will continue to provide updates as we get them. Please remember that this is the official page of the association and where we will continue to update the status of this issue. Thank you for your patience, and remember that we live here too and are unhappy with this as well.

As a board and people who live in our sub, we understand that the gun shots are concerning. We have followed township protocol and they will not allow us to rezone the property. We have a call with an attorney to see what legal actions we might have. Unfortunately this is a non-sub issue that can be resolved within our sub. It affects not just us, but other subs as well and we are trying to work together to eliminate the gun fire. Please stay tuned for more updates.
