The Livingston County Board of Commissioners is holding a Special Meeting Thursday, August 20, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will take place in the Board Chambers located at 304 E. Grand River in Howell. The public is invited to attend in person or remotely. The purpose of the Special Meeting is to interview and consider nominations and appointment for the vacant District 3 County Commissioner term. The Board of Canvassers certified the results of the August 4th Primary Election a short time ago. Official results will be posted soon using the link below. Canvassers will reconvene tomorrow, August 12th at 9:30 a.m. to complete the remaining work necessary in order to close the canvass of this election.

The Board of Canvassers will reconvene on Monday, August 10th at 9 a.m. to continue canvassing the Primary Election. Location: Historic Courthouse 200 E. Grand River in Howell. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.

Delegates to County Convention, also known as Precinct Delegates, elected at the August 4, 2026 Primary Election have been certified. Certification letters are being mailed to each person elected as a delegate and you will present that notice to the credential committee at county convention. Voters who have been notified by their city or township clerk about a signature deficiency on their absentee ballot have until Friday, August 7th at 5 p.m. to to cure the signature deficiency. If cured, the ballot will be brought to the canvass and the ballot will be tabulated. Learn more about signature cure guidelines using the link below.

The Michigan Department of State / Secretary of State will never ask people to send money or personal information via text message, email or QR code. Please contact the Michigan Department of Attorney General for more information on how to identify scams and to file a complaint.

The Livingston County Board of Canvassers will reconvene at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow, Friday, August 7th. The meeting is taking place in the Historic Courthouse located in downtown Howell. The public is invited to attend and learn more about this important part of the election process.
