Thank you to our EMS! We have a great group of first responders working for our community!
🚑 Volunteer Dedication. Community Commitment. 🚑
Since Tuesday, Sheridan County EMS has completed 5 long-distance patient transfers, traveling over 1,250 miles in just a few days. For a small, rural service that staffs one ambulance 24/7, this is no small feat — it’s a powerful example of teamwork and dedication.
What makes this even more impressive is how our volunteer EMS staff stepped up on every level:
• Volunteers made themselves available to travel long distances on transfers
• Others stayed back to ensure 911 coverage remained uninterrupted
• Every transfer was completed with Advanced Life Support (ALS) capabilities
💙 ALS vs. BLS — why it matters:
Advanced Life Support (ALS) provides a higher level of care, including cardiac monitoring, IV medications, airway management, and advanced interventions for critically ill patients. Basic Life Support (BLS) focuses on essential lifesaving care such as oxygen, splinting, CPR, basic medications, and patient monitoring.
We are incredibly proud to say that every transfer was staffed with ALS, ensuring our patients received the highest level of care possible throughout their journey.
👏 A huge THANK YOU to ALL of our providers. Everyone plays a key role to the success of our department.
To every volunteer who went on a transfer, stayed in town, answered a late-night call, or rearranged personal schedules — thank you. Your commitment ensures that our community continues to receive high-quality emergency medical care, no matter the distance or demand.
We are proud of this team. We are grateful for this dedication. And we are honored to serve alongside you. 💙🚑
