TEMPORARY FACILITY CLOSURES | FRIDAY, AUGUST 7

Due to a scheduled water shutdown for emergency repairs, the following Tarawa Terrace MCCS facilities will be closed Friday:
• Tarawa Terrace Plaza, including Domino’s, FMEAP, and the Fitness Center
• Tarawa Terrace School Age Care
• Tarawa Terrace Swimming Pool
• Tarawa Terrace Community Center

Children enrolled at Tarawa Terrace School Age Care will be accommodated at Stone Street Youth Pavilion for the day. Parents should follow instructions provided by the Youth Programs team.

Facilities are expected to resume normal operations after water service is restored. Any updates will be posted through MCCS Lejeune-New River communication channels.

Are you looking to connect with other homeschooling families this school year?

The St. Francis Xavier Liturgical Living Homeschool Co-op is kicking off the new homeschool year this Friday, August 7th at 9:00 AM, and they'd love to welcome new families!

This is a wonderful opportunity to build friendships, encourage one another, and grow together through faith-based learning centered around the Church's liturgical year.

Whether you're stationed at Camp Lejeune or MCAS New River, this is a great chance to meet other homeschooling families in our military community.

As summer begins to wind down, Week 9 is the perfect time to celebrate how much your child has learned! This week's activities encourage students to review important skills, reflect on their accomplishments, and prepare for a successful start to the new school year.

✏️ Reflect on favorite books, write about summer memories, and make connections between what you've learned and the world around you.

➕ Review math skills and challenge yourself to apply what you've practiced throughout the summer.

🔬 Revisit scientific discoveries by observing changes over time, planning investigations, and recognizing patterns.

🌎 Reflect on history, civics, and your community while celebrating the knowledge you've gained.

💪 Review healthy habits, fitness goals, and the progress you've made this summer.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Create lasting memories by making a summer memory book, teaching someone else a new skill, or writing a letter to your future self.

💡 Remember, you don't have to complete every activity! Choose 1–2 that fit your family's schedule. Consistency is more important than completion, and every small step helps prepare students for a strong start to the school year.
