Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune has been caring for our nation’s warfighters and their families for more than 80 years.

NMCCL is a Level III trauma center, supporting the military and civilian communities of Eastern North Carolina. Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune was first established as Naval Hospital New River on May 1, 1943 aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune. Since then, the medical center has proudly cared for Marines, Sailors, their families, and retirees and their families. Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune celebrates 78 years of dedicated, passionate care for warfighters and beneficiaries. Today, the staff of NMCCL consists of nearly 3,000 active duty service members, civilian and contract personnel. As part of the Coastal North Carolina Market under the Defense Health Agency, we serve an eligible beneficiary population of approximately 170,000 people.

Both the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the North Carolina Division of Public Health have put out advisories regarding the increase in reported human rabies exposures.

Rabies is a zoonotic (transmitted from animal to human) viral disease that is nearly 100% fatal. It's important to remember to keep your distance from wildlife. Never approach wildlife, even if they appear injured or sick. Contact Animal Control for assistance.

The annual Retiree Appreciation Day on Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune pulled in hundreds of attendees. The event held on Sept. 19, 2026, showcased more than 40 local, state, and federal vendors sharing information and resources to approximately 400 people in attendance. Marine Corps Installation East Deputy Commander Col. Gregory Pace and Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune's Executive Officer Capt. Kathleen Dagher provided remarks. The event is a collaborative effort from Camp Lejeune’s Retired Affairs Office and NMCCL’s Health Promotion and Wellness team.

On September 16, our newest Chief Petty Officers were officially pinned to their new rank in a Chiefs Pinning ceremony on Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune. The Chief Pinning ceremony is Navy tradition symbolizes the reaffirmed commitment to leading Sailors and incurrence of new responsibilities. Congratulations to Chief Petty Officer Brandon Blyden and Chief Petty Officer Melony Marcotte on joining 133 years of the Chief’s Mess!

The new, multi-factor authentication application – myAuth – is replacing DS Logon for accessing your MHS GENESIS Patient Portal.

This service will give users a more secure and easier way to access the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal.

Twenty-five years after the tragic events of September 11, 2001, Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune gathered to honor the lives lost in the terrorist attacks and to honor the brave souls that ran into danger to help. Speakers gave remarks on their recollections of that day and spoke to how 9/11 forever change the world we live in now. May we never forget how life can change in an instant. 🇺🇸
