Registration is now OPEN for the next Rabies Drive Though Clinic Saturday, September 12 at the Fort Ann Highway Garage, 11249 NY 149, Fort Ann, NY 12827. Registration is required. The registration link will close on Wednesday, September 9th (or sooner if appointments are filled before then.)
To schedule appointments, you will need to go to the Public Health Rabies Clinic webpage during the specified registration dates for each clinic location. When Registration opens, the red "Rabies Clinic Registration" button will link to the registration form. NOTE: If you wish to bring more than 4 pets to the clinic, please call our office at 518-746-2400 before registering.
New York State law requires all dogs, cats, and domesticated ferrets to be vaccinated against rabies. All Dogs and Cats should be vaccinated against rabies at 3 months of age (at least 12 Weeks old). They should be re-vaccinated one year later, and then every three years thereafter. (Pregnant female cats will not be vaccinated.) Ferrets should be vaccinated against rabies at 3 months of age and re-vaccinated yearly thereafter. Also, all animal bites should be reported to Public Health, regardless of vaccination status.
Keep the following in mind if you attend the Rabies Clinics:
*Clinic is By Appointment ONLY.
*Do not arrive earlier than 5 minutes before your scheduled appointment time.
*Have pets relieve themselves before arriving to clinic.
*Proof of your pet's previous rabies vaccination will need to be provided prior to clinic to be marked as a 3 year certificate.
*Leave pets in your vehicle until it is their turn for vaccination.
*All pets must be on a leash or in a carrier.
*All Clinics are Free and open to the public. (Donations are accepted and appreciated.)
