This is why I came to Columbus - to advocate for policies that help average Ohioans. Last week I introduced the Fair Claims Accountability Act. This legislation would establish a Medical Claims Consumer Assistance Program (MCCAP) to provide services to consumers, such as assistance filing complaints, settling health
insurance conflicts, tracking inquiries, educating patients about their rights and responsibilities, providing referrals, and more. The Act also establishes penalties for insurers when wrongful denials or insufficient coverage of a valid consumer claim occur. I've introduced the bill. Now comes the hard work of advocating for its passage. I'm here for it.
