We have seen a heard a common question as to why are only City of Hudson residents are being surveyed about a possible referendum? He is a brief explanation on how the decision was made.
Earlier this spring, the Advisory Joint Fire Board (which includes representatives from each community served by the Hudson Fire Department) discussed the identified need for additional full-time staff and how best to engage the community regarding the future of fire services.
The Board opted unanimously to move forward with a City-wide survey in the City of Hudson.
Ultimately, the City is responsible for Fire Department personnel, including hiring decisions. Input from City residents was deemed a necessary first step in understanding community service preferences by the Board.
The survey is open through Monday, June 8. Results will be compiled and shared publicly at the Monday, June 15, Common Council meeting. Based on those results, the Fire Department will continue conversations with each of the communities we serve relative to staffing structure.
We have also been notified that some address is the City of Hudson did not receive the survey. If you live in the City of Hudson and have not received a copy, contact the Fire Department at 715-386-5861 for a survey code and then go to www.Survey2000.com and enter the unique survey code.
