Downplaying our ancestors to other Spaniards so they don't take their treasures. The Cacique or KarKiquen of the sea. She an all her might an glory has been here watching over my family and our journey protecting our family as we cross her land. I may be the Cacique of the lands but she is the Caciquen of the the Caribbean sea is her territory her kingdom her influence is just as strong as her teachings I'm not the only Cacique that's ruled in pair and I'm glad this majestic creature is a Tiano

I don't know why Floridas government is spraying poison in the waters and lakes or why they allow data centers to use all the aquaphor with no defined purposes or why their puting nukes in the waters for test but.. we love water. My tribe loves water were by majority all water. Were demanding they stop trying to engage in war with the water I don't know why their so mad it's just water.

High on the cliffs of the northwest, where the Atlantic crashes against the rock, the Taino people remembered a cacique who would not bow. 🌊 His name was Mabodamaca, and he led the people of the Guajataca region in the years when the Spanish first tried to break the spirit of Boriken.

The old stories tell of his stand in 1511, when the Taino rose up across the island after learning that the newcomers were not gods but men. Mabodamaca became one of the faces of that resistance, a leader who chose dignity over submission. 🔥

So much of our Taino history was nearly erased, surviving only in place names, petroglyphs, and the memory of elders. Speaking his name out loud is its own small act of remembering. Which Taino place name or word from the island has always stayed close to your heart?
