FYI - an important reminder with school starting soon, but equally important for our mindset, 365 days a year on all of our roads. Please be alert, be careful and be kind.

🚸 Back-to-School Safety 🚸

A new school year is approaching and that means more students will be out walking and biking.

🚗 Drivers: Slow down in school zones, stop for buses, respect crosswalks and follow drop-off/pick-up rules.
🚶 🚲 Walkers/Bikers: Be visible, use crosswalks, stay alert and always wear a helmet when riding a bike.
🚌 Bus Riders: Arrive early, follow bus rules, wait in a safe spot and respect neighbors.

Green Valley Brewing Company will be back open tomorrow, August 12th, after being down for several days due to an equipment failure.

Even with all of that going on, owner John and staff still showed up at the Hudson-Landsberg Sister City annual Biergarten this past weekend and supplied 3 different beers for the event.

Let’s return the love and show owners John & Nick and their staff some support. My family and I will be there tomorrow to welcome them back.

2 topics:

1) Hudson City Council held a joint, Special Workshop Meeting on Monday night with our Planning Commission and staff to review the Clinton Crossing project (prior phase-2).

* While various aspects, thoughts and future LDC requirements were discussed, staff is working towards a single plan that will take much of the recently proposed Plan-1 for the North side of Owen-Brown, and the South side will look more like Plan-3. This combination will have some adjustments and tweaks before reviewed again. Stay tuned.

2) Due to our recess last week, Hudson City Council will hold a combination Regular Meeting and Workshop tonight, Tuesday August 11th.

The Friends of Hudson Parks 14th annual Pack the Pond event last night sure felt like a record number of attendees from the community.

Thank you to all of the event’s raffle prize donors (there were 18 different prizes, most with multiple items included).

The newer ADA boat ramp was extremely helpful and put to good use.

Thanks as well to all of the event’s volunteers and partners, and for allowing me to be your MC. We had a blast.

While Board & Commission meetings remain on schedule, there is no City Council meeting this week, as we will be on recess August 4th.

Public City Council meetings will resume on August 11th with a combined Regular meeting & Workshop meeting.
