For the second time in just over a week Hudson Fire / Rescue recieved a call for a structure fire. Today we were called to 217 Berry Pit Rd at 4:43 pm this afternoon. We arrived to find a shed fully involved just a few feet from the house. The siding on the house had melted and there was some charring. Fire extended into the woods and burned approximately 2/10 of an acre. Glenburn Fire Department arrived right after Hudson Engine 501 and crews quickly went to work. We were assisted by our mutual aid departments:

Bradford Fire & Rescue
Corinth, Maine Fire Department
Charleston Fire Dept
Kenduskeag Fire-Rescue
Levant Fire & Rescue
Alton Fire Dept.

I would also like to Thank:
Penobscot Regional Communications Center
Maine Forest Rangers
G&H Ambulance Service Inc.

The shed was a total loss. The cause was determined to be accidental.

Our recent fire in Hudson.

🚨 On Thursday, March 19, 2026, Maine State Police Corporal Greg Ramp and his family lost their home and everything in it to a devastating house fire in the Bangor area.
Thankfully, Greg, his wife Natasha, their two children, and all of their pets... including K-9 partner Murph made it out safely. But they are now starting over with nothing.
Greg has served with the Maine State Police since 2019, after spending 10 years as an electrician, and has been a dedicated K-9 handler since 2022.

Now it’s our turn to support him and his family in their time of need.

The Trooper Black Foundation (a registered 501(c)(3), EIN # 84-2953745) is collecting donations, and 100% of contributions made through April 19, 2026 will go directly to the Ramp family.

This year, our fire department responded to 261 calls for service, marking one of the busiest years for our organization.

This level of service would not be possible without the unwavering dedication of our firefighters, EMS personnel and officers. Each response represents time given freely—often at personal sacrifice—to ensure the safety and well-being of our community.

We extend our sincere appreciation to all members for their professionalism, commitment, and service. We are proud of the work accomplished this year and grateful for the continued support of the community we serve.

It is with EXTREME EXCITEMENT that Hudson Fire / Rescue has recieved a grant in the amount of $63,900 to replace our Breathing Air Bottle Refilling Station. The diligent and hard work by Acting Deputy Chief Cody Knight and Chief Josh Lilley really paid off!

You might be asking yourself why do they need a new Breathing Air Bottle Refilling Station? Well, the one that we have is broken. The electronic control has been replaced once with a used one and now is no longer available. We have used this unit for many years.
