The transition to the new system has been smooth for the most part, but not without some bumps in the road (see what I did there?) which is typical for any new software rollout. So it has been a little stressful on staff. Baby goats to the rescue!! We had a visit from some darling baby goats, Oregano and Rascal in honor of April being Donate Life month, what better reminder about the gift of life and how precious it is, than some darling baby goats! Plus staff got some nice cuddles in! Goats were courtesy of Grace Ooms, please check out her page G. Ooms & Kids (the Ooms' are good family friends of Clerk Tanner, her father introduced Grace's grandfather to her grandmother many years ago at a square dance ;) you can get baby goats at one of your events! (rumor has it they will be at the Flag Day festival this year!)

Please consider becoming an organ donor, you can easily sign up at the DMV during any license transaction and some vehicle transactions!

Good morning and Good Friday to all celebrating this Holy Week, may it be blessed, and happy Passover as well! Not to bring down the spirit of these holidays but did want to bring to your attention yet another scam praying on the motoring public here in NYS. Again brought to my attention by my good Clerk friends in the metro region (there was a similar one a few weeks ago) it is making its way to upstate. If you get this, it is a scam!! Good afternoon! Spring is in the air and so are scams!! I have heard from a number of you that you are getting text messages like the one below, that you have been naughty and DMV is going to take swift and immediate action if you don't "immediately " pay...🤔🙄 you may or may not have DMV "issues " but DMV will not text you about it, demanding payment. Please block and delete!! If you have questions as always feel free to reach out to me!

The latest scam going around! Thanks to my friends in the Metro region who alerted me to this! This one comes in the form of a summons, with a very handy QR code to pay your fine early to avoid penalties 🙄 please be aware that this is just another example of dmv toll scams going around, if you get this or something similar please reach out if you aren't sure! Don't scan the QR code and pay!!

Winter isn't done with us yet, so Columbia county offices are on a two hour delay tomorrow. That means the DMV and Clerk offices will open at 11am (for those of you in the back that's cause we normally open at 9am, other county depts open at 8am 😉) see you then!! Be safe out there if you must be out and thanks to all the hardworking crews out there busting and grinding to keep the roads safe!! Xo

So we have had wonderful news from leadership at NYS DMV that the software upgrade was successful so we will be open at the Hudson DMV tomorrow (2/18) at 9am!! Please be patient with us as it will be busy and it is a new system but we will get thru it together! We look forward to seeing you, all are welcome, no appointment needed. Thank you! Xo

Good morning everyone! Just a reminder we are closed today for the President's day holiday! But remember the Hudson DMV along with every other DMV in NYS is closed tomorrow (2/17) as they finish up converting all those data files and do some testing before we (hopefully) get to reopen the DMV on Wed. The clerk office IS open tomorrow for all your Clerk needs (recording documents, DBAs, passports, pistol permits, etc) starting at 9am, closed daily for lunch from noon to 1pm. Reminder! The HUDSON DMV will be CLOSED tomorrow 2/13 and like the entirety of the NYS DMV world, we will not reopen until 9am on Wednesday, 2/18 (and that is if everything goes as planned). NYS DMV is undergoing a massive data shift to a new platform for licensing services, this weekend! That means ALL DMV ACTIVITIES EXCEPT ENFORCEMENT will be UNAVAILABLE!!! No online renewals, no abstracts, no inspections, no in office transactions, no phone service, you get the picture.

Other county offices, including the Clerk's office are open for business like normal on Friday 2/13 and Tuesday 2/17 (Monday 2/16 is a holiday so all offices closed), and DMV staff will be reporting to work as normal for training purposes. But, we will not be open for customers on 2/13 and 2/17! If you want to drop off plates for surrender, please use the DROP BOX ON THE 6TH STREET SIDE OF THE BUILDING and we will mail you the receipt when we reopen! You can also use the drop box for other DMV transactions - license renewals and vehicle renewals for example...

Please be patient with us when we reopen at 9am on Wed 2/18 as the licensing services software will be "live" for the first time and we will all be getting used to it, together :)

A reminder! The entirety of NYS DMV (all offices/internet/phones) will be DOWN starting next Friday, Feb 13th (some offices will be open until 2pm, most will not but check the website or with your local office for specifics for other than the Hudson DMV ;) ) and not reopening until Wed 2/18...certain dealer transactions/insurance and of course law enforcement WILL be active...

The HUDSON DMV will be CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC on Friday 2/13 reopening on Wed 2/18 at 9am (fingers crossed!). Please plan accordingly if you need something!

The state is revamping very old legacy systems, starting with licenses and the rollout is that weekend. Please be patient with us when we reopen as we have been training, but it is still very different!

All are welcome, no appointment needed!
