Friday, October 9 through Monday, October 12

The Virtual race will take place over 4 full days, Friday, October 9th through Monday, October 12th at Willow River State Park

. COURSE DESCRIPTION: These races include challenging hills, beautiful scenery, and a great view of Willow Falls on the hilly x-c ski trails of the park.

• Volunteers will not be on site.
• Runners will need to be self-sufficient. Depending on the weather, we also expect to have water available at the start/finish. No water or bathrooms will be available on the course.
• Routes will be clearly marked and available for download from our website.
• The 21.1K and 10.6K routes will remain the same as in past years.
• The 6.6 K route has been revised to eliminate the need for busing.
• All routes will pass the spectacular Willow Falls.
• There will be no need for bibs or packet pickup.
• T-shirts and finisher medals will be mailed.
• Results will be available online. Once timing details are finalized, we will update the race registration site and begin to post new information on runner sites, our web page, and page, and will send updated emails to all past participants, past volunteers, and members of our Friends
group. As we learn more, we will be sharing it with you. Meanwhile, if you have any questions or comments, please contact us, [email protected]. Daily park passes are now available for purchase on-site at Willow River State Park. They are available at the office window, at the self-pay kiosk at the park entrance and
at self-pay stations at other park entrances. Fees are: Wisconsin license plates $10 (over 65 $3) Out-of-state plates $13

Event proceeds benefit the Friends of Willow River and Kinnickinnic State Parks. We are a group of volunteers who work together with the park manager to organize and fund supplemental park programs, projects, and events.

We have sad news…due to volunteer constraints, we will not be holding the Willow River Trail Challenge this year.

Next year we hope to find a new race director and bring this amazing event back!

Thank you everyone for participating in this seriously adapted Willow River Trail Challenge. You provided needed support to the Friends of Willow River and Kinnickinnic State Parks to keep our naturalist programming going.
We can all agree we couldn’t have gotten a better weekend.

SPACE LIMITED https://www.webscorer.com/register?raceid=166464 COURSE DESCRIPTION: These races include challenging hills, beautiful scenery and a great view of Willow Falls on the hilly x-c ski trails of the park. All racers meet at the Nature Center picnic area. The 6.6K participants will board a bus at the Nature Center parking lot and be shuttled to the start of the Short Course located at the Hunters Lot on River Road. Both courses finish at the Nature Center parking lot. CHOOSE FROM: 10.6K, 6.6K, HALF-MARATHON, or FAMILY FUN WALK KIDS OBSTACLE COURSE will be bigger and better than ever! Free admission into park day of event. “ONE OF THE MOST SCENIC TRAIL RUNS IN THE TWIN-CITIES” Event proceeds benefit the Friends of Willow River and Kinnickinnic State Parks.
