The biggest threat to your spiritual growth may not be your circumstances. It may be your own self-reliance.

Every day presents moments when we'll be tempted to trust ourselves instead of God. Those small decisions shape our days, our habits, and ultimately the direction of our lives.

A simple prayer: God, make me aware of those moments. Holy Spirit, help me trust Jesus.

This weekend in Luke 18:18–30, Jesus reminded us that following Him is about more than looking good on the outside. The rich ruler had everything the world values, but his heart was still holding onto something other than God.

Anything we cling to more tightly than Jesus can become a false god. But through grace, Jesus invites us to surrender our hearts fully to Him.

God comes looking for both the rebellious and the religious.

In Luke 15, Jesus shows us that being far from God doesn’t always look the same. One son ran away, the other stayed close but grew bitter. Yet the Father pursued both with grace, compassion, and love.

This story reminds us that God isn’t calling us into religion — He’s calling us into relationship. No matter your past, His invitation still stands: come home.
