We hosted our first Directors’ Meeting for the 102nd year of the Columbia County Volunteer Firefighters Association at Station 1! A nice showing of current and past officers of the Association. Great food, great conversation, and great camaraderie. Departments represented included City of Hudson Fire Department, Niverville Fire Department Inc., Stuyvesant Falls Fire Company #2, Stuyvesant Fire Company #1, Germantown Hose Company #1, Philmont Volunteer Fire Company 1, Chatham Fire Department, Valatie Fire Department, and Mellenville Volunteer Fire Company #1.

8/30/2026 - Today Greenport Fire Department held a mutual aid water supply drill on Middle Road in the area of Griffen Apartments. Our goal was to determine if we could continuously flow at least 600 gallons per minute utilizing 6 tankers and two portable ponds. The outcome met our goals at about 650 gallons per minute continuously and ideas of what we would need to flow 800 gallons per minute or more if we needed higher flow rates.

We want to thank Livingston, Claverack, Taghkanic, Germantown, Athens and Leeds for helping us make this a successful drill.
