UPDATE 8:55am: HLP Crews that responded to the MVA in the Hudson Road area of Stow are still working as quickly & safely as possible to repair extensive damage & restore power to those Residents in the direct area of the MVA. Power will be out for several more hours.

HLP Crews are responding to an MVA in the Hudson Road area of Stow.

Crews are working as quickly and safely as possible on re routing power to as many customers as possible, however, Residents in the direct area of the MVA will be without power for a significant amount of time.

It's Public Power Week!

There are 41 Municipal Light Plants (MLP's) across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Hudson Light & Power included, HLP keeps Hudson & Stow powered as a community-owned, not-for-profit public power utility, meaning our focus is always on the people we serve.

Today, we’re putting a special spotlight on our incredible Employees. Whether they’re answering customers calls, braving freezing winter storms to restore power, maintaining our Power Station, giving tours at our Open House or planting trees! Our Employees are always there when we need them most!

We are deeply proud of their hard work, sacrifice, and commitment to our town.

Hudson Light & Power Crews will be on call and ready for any impact this weekend’s Nor’easter may have on our area. You can report an outage on our website at www.hudsonlight.com or call 888-404-4573.

The US National Weather Service Boston MA is forecasting a Nor’easter that will impact Massachusetts this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with the most significant impacts on Cape Cod and the Islands.

Tips for preparing ahead of the storm:

• Monitor conditions closely and ensure that Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEAs) are enabled on your cell phone. If your community has a reverse 911 system, you should sign up to receive local warnings. ✔️

• Make sure your home emergency kit is stocked with supplies that could help in the event of a power outage, including a flashlight and extra batteries. ✔️

Hudson Light & Power's Staff started planting October Glory Maple Trees yesterday as part of our Free Shade Tree Program. If you were selected to have trees planted, your trees should be planted within the next week or so.

HLP crews are aware of an outage affecting areas in an around River Rd., Chapin Rd. and Dudley Rd. Crews will work as quickly and safely as possible to restore power! Estimated time of outage could be about 2-3 hours.
