We are celebrating Forensic Nursing Week!

What is a forensic nurse?

A forensic nurse provides specialized care to victims of violence and also works at the intersection of nursing and the law. They provide medical and emotional support to patients, collect and preserve forensic evidence, and may testify in legal proceedings. Their work often involves victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, and other traumas, but can also involve evaluating the perpetrators of crimes or working with deceased victims.

The work forensic nurses do is critical; please take the time to thank them and help show our support for them this week!

‼Join St Croix Valley Sexual Assault Response Team SART and many other community resources TOMORROW, Wednesday, October 8th, at St. Croix Central High School starting at 5:30pm for this FREE & important information event hosted by St. Croix County and WI DOJ.

Sextortion is impacting so many young people; at this event you will learn what it is, how to recognize the signs, how to support a loved one going through it, and hear from families who have been directly impacted by it.

Speakers will include John DeMay & Brittney Bird sharing their experience of loosing a child due to sextortion.

There will be many resources and community services available as well to talk with and learn how they can be of support.
