Since establishment in 1999, our dedicated and energetic volunteers have been raising funds for and creating awareness of the Hudson Area Library.

The Friends of the Hudson Area Library was established to assist the Hudson Area Association Library in providing programs and supplies to enhance library services for the communities of Hudson and Greenport. The Hudson Area Association Library, like many small town and rural libraries in New York State, has a modest operating budget. It sustains itself year-to-year with operating funds from the c

ommunities it serves, through the generosity of individual and corporate donors and Friends like you!

✨ Last week, we celebrated our 2nd Annual Novel Affair cocktail party! ✨

It was wonderful to see both new and familiar faces come together in support of our library and the community we serve. Thanks to your generosity, we raised over $3,000 to help support the Hudson Area Library’s programs, resources, and future initiatives.

A huge thank you to Christy from Neverstill for generously donating the space and wine, and a special thank you to Kristan and Kirby for providing the delicious food that made the evening even more memorable. 🥂📚

Thank you to everyone who attended, donated, and helped make the night such a success. We’re grateful for this incredible community of library supporters!

Small acts of kindness can brighten someone’s day ❤️📬

Friends of the Hudson Area Library President William S. Blowers recently dropped off handmade postcards for patients at Columbia Memorial Health.

Created by local children with the help of Ntangou Badila, each card was filled with thoughtful notes, cheerful artwork, and heartfelt care. 🎨💌

We’re so proud to share the creativity and compassion of Hudson’s young people with our community.

Today we celebrated National Library Workers Day, a day dedicated to the people who keep our library alive and thriving.

The Friends of the Library were proud to host our annual luncheon in honor of our incredible volunteers. It was a wonderful afternoon filled with gratitude, connection, and appreciation for all that you do.

Your time, kindness, and quiet dedication make such a lasting impact on our community every single day. Libraries are more than just books, they are people. And today, we celebrated the very best of them. 💛📚

✨ A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make this year’s Spring Book & Bake Sale such a success! ✨

With the help of our amazing volunteers and the support of our wonderful community, we raised $2,200 for the Hudson Area Library 📚🍪

💛 We’re so grateful to everyone who sorted books, baked delicious treats, worked the sale, and came out to shop and support. This event wouldn’t be possible without you!

Spreading a little love from our library to our community ❤️📚

Friends of the Hudson Area Library President, William Blowers, delivered handmade Valentine’s postcards to the patients at Columbia Memorial Health.

Each postcard was lovingly created by local kids under the guidance of Ntangou Badila — filled with sweet messages, bright colors, and big hearts. 💌

A beautiful reminder that kindness is powerful… and our young artists are leading the way.
