WELCOME BACK, STUDENTS & STAFF!

As a new school year gets underway, the Hudson Police Department would like to welcome all of our students, teachers, staff, and families back to school! We hope everyone has a safe, successful, and great school year!

We also want to recognize and thank our School Resource Officers for the important work they do each day:

Our SROs do much more than help keep our schools safe. They build relationships with students and staff, provide support when needed, and are an important part of our school communities. We appreciate their dedication and everything they do for our students!

Drivers, please remember that school being back in session means increased traffic during the morning and afternoon hours. Please allow yourself a little extra time, slow down in school zones, watch for children and pedestrians, and stay alert for school buses entering and exiting the roadway.

Please be especially mindful of stopped school buses and never pass a bus when its red lights are flashing and stop arm is extended.

A few extra minutes and a little extra attention can make a big difference in keeping our students safe.

SCAM ALERT: Jury Duty & Fake Warrant Calls

Please be aware of scammers making phone calls claiming that you have missed jury duty and that there is now a warrant out for your arrest. They may threaten arrest, jail time, or other legal consequences unless you immediately pay a fine or fee.

Do not panic and do not send money. Never provide your Social Security number, bank information, credit/debit card information, or other personal information to an unsolicited caller. Scammers may demand payment through gift cards, wire transfers, cryptocurrency, or other unusual payment methods.

If you receive one of these calls, hang up and do not call the number provided by the scammer. Contact your local court or law enforcement agency using an official phone number that you look up yourself to verify whether there is actually an issue.

Please share this information with your family, friends, and neighbors. A scammer may sound convincing, but threats of immediate arrest and demands for payment are major red flags. Stay alert and help spread the word!

We have been made aware of a scam in which individuals are “spoofing” our department’s phone number to contact residents. These callers may falsely claim to be law enforcement officers and attempt to obtain personal information or demand payment.
Please be advised:

• Our department will never call to request money, gift cards, or sensitive personal information over the phone.

• Do not provide any personal or financial information to unsolicited callers.
• If you receive a suspicious call appearing to come from our number, hang up immediately.

If you believe you have been contacted by a scammer or have fallen victim to this scheme, please report it to our department directly using our official contact information.

The Hudson Police Department is proud to recognize Detective Sergeant Tyler Walker for a major professional achievement!

At the April meeting of the Hudson Board of Commissioners, Sgt. Walker was presented with his Criminal Investigation Certificate Program certificate. This accomplishment represents over 400 hours of specialized law enforcement training focused on investigative work.

This level of training strengthens our department’s ability to conduct thorough, professional investigations and better serve our community. Please join us in congratulating Sgt. Walker on this well-earned achievement!
