Starting this Tuesday, September 8th

🚨 ROAD CLOSURE ALERT: Main Street (CO 52) 🚧
Major revitalization work is getting underway, and Main Street (CO 52) will be fully closed to through traffic between Ash Street and Evergreen Street starting Tuesday, September 8. The closure will remain in place through late October to allow crews to complete construction safely and efficiently.
Here is what you need to know to plan your commute:
🏡 Local Access & Residents
Local access for residents and business patrons will remain open throughout construction:
Access from the west: Ash Street
Access from the east: Evergreen Street
Properties on the north side of CO 52: Access across the work zone is available at Ash Street and Cherry Street (use 5th Avenue > Evergreen St or Ash St to cross back over CO 52).
🗺️ Detour Routes
Eastbound Traffic: Use I-76 Frontage Road (Hudson Drive)> CR 51> CO 52
Westbound Traffic: Use CR 51 > I-76 Frontage Road
Coming from South of Town (Beech St / CR 45): Direct access to CO 52 from Beech Street will be closed. Please use CR 10 >CR 47 as an alternate route.
🚛 Truck Restrictions
Oversized trucks are strictly prohibited from entering the work zone (Milepoint 29.5–30) and must use alternate truck routes.
Restrictions: 10 ft width | 100 ft length | 85,000 lbs
⏰ Plan Ahead

Do you need to properly dispose of some household hazardous materials?
Things like automotive batteries, antifreeze, aerosols, oil, household cleaners, gas/fuel, paint, solvents, insecticides, w**d killer, and even cell phones. Weld County residents can dispose of these products for free at one of two facilities operated by the county:

South Household Hazardous Waste Facility

Let's keep our kids, pets, and environment safe!

Weld County residents can dispose of household hazardous waste for free at one of two facilities operated by the county. The county also offers commercial hazardous waste disposal for Very Small Quantity Generators (VSQGs) in Weld County for a fee.

We appreciate Mihkel diligence in obtaining a valid permit as required by the Town of Hudson Municipal Code. As a reminder, legitimate permit holders are required to carry documentation, which you may request to verify. If a solicitor arrives without a permit or if you suspect any irregularities, please contact the Weld County Dispatch non-emergency line at (970) 350-9600.

Hudson Police Department’s K9 Apollo to get donation of body armor.

Hudson Police Department, CO - K9 Apollo will receive a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. K9 Apollo’s vest was sponsored by Jenny Paulson of Bremerton, WA and will be embroidered with the sentiment “In honor of precious Cinder”. Delivery is expected within ten weeks.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., established in 2009, is a 501(c)(3) charity whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States. This potentially lifesaving body armor for four-legged K9 officers is U.S. made, custom fitted, and National Institute of Justice (NIJ) certified. Since its inception, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. has provided over 6,513 vests valued at $6.9 million to K9s in all 50 states, made possible by both private and corporate donations.

The program is open to U.S. dogs at least 20 months old, actively employed, and certified with law enforcement or related agencies. K9s with expired vests are also eligible to participate. There are an estimated 30,000 law enforcement K9s throughout the United States.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. accepts tax-deductible contributions in any amount, while a single donation of $1,050 will sponsor one vest. Each vest has a value of $1800.00, weighs an average of 4-5 lbs., and comes with a five-year warranty. For more information, or to learn about volunteer opportunities, please call (508) 824-6978.
