Yesterday, the Class of 2026 took a walk down memory lane! Wearing their caps and gowns, our graduating seniors returned to the hallways where their educational journeys first began.

Seeing the elementary students line the hallways to cheer on the graduates is a powerful reminder of where the graduates started and where hard work can take you.

River Crest 2nd Grade students wrapped up their Core Knowledge Language Arts (CKL) Aviation Unit with an exciting field trip to a local airport. Students explored airport equipment like the tugs, visited the hangar, and toured the inside of a Cessna and a jet. They also had a front-row seat to watch planes take off and land on a nearby runway, learned about model airplanes, watched a flight demonstration with impressive tricks, and participated in a question-and-answer session with pilots. It was a great experience that brought their aviation learning to life!

Last week’s concert was one for the books! Under the direction of Mrs. Poquette, our students filled the room with songs of resilience and hope. From the powerful lyrics of Man in the Mirror to the glowing message of Flashlight, these young performers reminded us that no voice is too small to make a big impact.

We are bursting with pride over their hard work and heart!

Recently, Mrs. Bartch’s and Ms. Mueller’s classes headed over to YMCA Camp St. Croix for an afternoon of discovery. Students took to the trails and the pond to observe the local ecosystem firsthand.

It wasn’t just a walk in the woods—students spent time nature journaling, capturing the sights and sounds of the spring season. We love seeing our students' curiosity grow outside the classroom!

River Crest third grade students in Mrs. Bartch’s and Ms. Mueller’s classes just wrapped up their Core Knowledge Language Arts (CKLA) "Age of Exploration" unit with a sensory celebration! To understand why explorers trekked across the globe, students put their senses to the test with a Mystery Spice Sniff Test.

From "wow!" to "whoa!", the reactions were priceless as they discovered the scents that once changed the map of the world. Great job, explorers!

River Crest's recent All School Meeting was filled with incredible music and culture.

We had the wonderful opportunity to host Saywa, a musical group that shared a performance rich in heritage and tradition.

Our students were fascinated by the unique instruments the band used. It was a beautiful way to experience the sounds and rhythms of another culture firsthand.
The highlight of the event was a very special connection: some of the band members are actually River Crest relatives! It was a joy to see our students so proud while watching their families perform on stage.
