Baker-Polito Administration Announces Nearly $1.6 million in Travel & Tourism Recovery Grants to 59 Organizations | Massachusetts It's All Here

Our Downtown has become one of the premier destinations within the Metrowest and Central Massachusetts regions. The Mass. Office and Travel and Tourism thinks so too, and awarded the Town of Hudson in partnership with the Downtown Business Improvement District $8,300 to implement a creative, unified system of signage that conveys both directionality and the Downtown vibe. A unified, intuitive system of wayfinding signage will ensure smooth pedestrian and vehicular navigation and circulation throughout the downtown for first time and repeat visitors. Special shout out to our Legislative Delegation Senator Jamie Eldridge Kate Hogan for their unwavering support of the Town's economic development initiatives, and the local steering committee who worked diligently throughout 2020 to develop the Downtown Wayfinding. Information about the Downtown Wayfinding can be found on the Town's website: https://www.townofhudson.org/sites/g/files/vyhlif3281/f/uploads/hudson.spec_.package.oct__0.pdf

Spring is at our doorstep and the Town is moving full speed ahead with Phase I of the Downtown Riverwalk project. Our vision is to make the South Street Riverwalk a welcoming destination in our Downtown. It will be accessible to all, with open views of the Assabet River, a welcome arch and an overlook platform. There will be lighting, signage about both history and ecology, benches and picnic areas. Currently Phase 1 is funded by a grant from MassDOT. Phase 1 will add walkways through Cellucci Park to make the Riverwalk ADA compliant, lighting along all walkways to make the walk safer, and some amenities and signs. Goodbye to 15 Broad Street

And the final piece of the building at 15 Broad Street was knocked to the ground late yesterday afternoon! J.R. Vinagro Corporation 's team of demolition experts moved at a fast clip while maintaining the safety of the adjacent structures in the immediate area. Their CAT operators displayed some serious skills! Special thanks to the surrounding neighborhood residents and businesses for their patience and cooperation during this delicate operation. Here's the good news: the Rail Trail is now open, and Broad Street will be repoened by 4 pm today. We will continue to close the road completely between 7 am and 4 pm all next week to allow the contractor to continue hauling the debris from the site. I paid excise tax back in April and they never received it. Then they send out a demand letter in July and I called several times and eft messages no response. Now I have a warrant letter. I called 8/11 no answer again and no call back. Today 8/12 I called and someone called back. The lady I spoke to today was very rude and not helpful. Then I spoke to Mr. Weagle and basically the same. They would waive any fees . Again I called several times and left messages with no help what do ever. They are useless.
A place to give feedback about the โ€œNewโ€ rotary. Someone tried to play chicken with me yesterday coming from up Main while I was in the rotary. It was the same jerk stuff that jerks have been doing for 50 years that I know of. The new rotary shape had zero effect.
I heard from Black Earth today! It looks like we are close to getting enough people to get this started soon. If you are interested, I encourage you to preregister (no financial commitment). The more people we preregister the sooner we will have this great service. -For those interested in reducing waste, composting, and getting great compost for your own gardens; Black Earth Compost is already in Hudson for commercial composting! Lets work on bringing them here for residential composting. So much is compostable, they have a wonderful list on their site. Sign up to pre-register, no financial obligation! Help reduce our waste-
I noticed on the drawings of the rotary revamp (preliminary I know)but it didn't appear that the crosswalk by Hudson Public Library is going to be raised. This is one of if not the most dangerous crosswalks in Hudson, especially because it is often used by children and traffic streaming down Central often do not stop. I have stood in the crosswalk near the curb myself and waited while 3 or 4 cars whizzed by once a car coming in other direction stops they seem to wake up and stop. I am more concerned about groups of children not accompanied by an adult crossing that area. I hope this will be considered even if it is not a crosswalk technically in the area of the rotary redo. Thank you.
Is the concert at Cellucci Park at noon tomorrow, or a different time? (It was postponed from 7/16)
Just want to thank you for all the work and preparation you did for the rebuilding/closing of the Washington Street bridge. Your proactive communication approach was quite helpful. I was dreading the closure since I have to travel thru downtown multiple times a day. It's been a breeze! Thanks again Michael Tracey
Is there a general calendar online regarding the Washington Street Bridge project? When will the bridge itself be shut down for demolition, and expected date for it to be opened again?
