Segway Humanitarian Solutions came about indirectly in 2002 as a result of humanitarian opportunities in Iran through coordinating relief efforts to the people of northwest Iran after an earthquake in the Qazvin and Zanjan Provinces. Registering 6.3 on the Richter scale, it killed over 261 people, injured 1500 and left over 25,000 people homeless. From this, Segway Humanitarian Solutions has grown

to include projects in Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, Somalia, and the Arabian Peninsula. Even now expansion is inevitable as the needs of people around the world continues to increase in severity. Segway Humanitarian Solutions desires to work through partnerships with individuals, organizations and government agencies who desire to make a genuine difference in the lives of the people. All involved with Segway Humanitarian Solutions seek to discover and meet humanitarian needs around the world in ways that build an individual's and a country's personal dignity and worth.
