🚨🔥 WILDFIRE DANGER — PLEASE TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY 🔥🚒

Our region has now been elevated to LEVEL 3 WILDFIRE PREPAREDNESS. There are 5 preparedness levels, with Level 5 being the most critical.

⚠️ WHAT DOES LEVEL 3 MEAN?

Conditions are CRITICALLY DRY, and the wildfire threat is increasing. The state is strategically positioning additional firefighters and equipment in areas where they may be needed most.

You may notice an increased presence of state resources, including fire trucks and crews brought in from other regions.

🔥 More than 1,300 state responders and 500+ pieces of equipment are currently deployed.

🔥 87 fires have burned more than 96,000 acres across the state.

🚨 PLEASE — BE EXTREMELY VIGILANT. ONE SPARK IS ALL IT TAKES.

❌ DO NOT BURN OUTDOORS. This includes burn barrels and any activity involving an open flame.

⛓️ Towing? Check your safety chains! Dragging chains can create sparks and ignite roadside vegetation.

⚡ Welding or grinding? Sparks can travel farther than you think.

🚗 Do NOT park vehicles in tall, dry grass. Hot exhaust components can start a fire.

🌾 Even mowing can cause a wildfire. A mower blade striking a rock or metal can create enough of a spark to ignite dry vegetation.

🔥 Please use extreme caution with grilling or any other outdoor activity that could produce flames, heat, or sparks.

Our firefighters and first responders are prepared — but preventing the next fire starts with ALL OF US.

Please help protect our homes, our land, our neighbors, and our first responders.

Hot and dry conditions will contribute to increased fire danger Today across the entire Four State Region. Follow burn guidance of local officials, as several counties/parishes are currently under burn bans.

The crossroads Cornett volunteer fire department is looking for someone that would be willing to donate their time and a tractor to come out and smooth our driveway. With all the rain we have received. It has washed out our driveway. Anyone willing to help us out please send us a message. Thank you in advance.

We’re under an enhanced risk of severe weather this afternoon through this evening, there is a chance for tornadoes ( EF2 + ), damaging winds (65 mph + ), and large hail ( 2”+ ). We know the Wildflower Trails and Cass County Rodeo is going on today and tonight, have multiple ways of getting warnings and stay weather savvy today.
