For ages 6-12, “All about Owls” is in coordination with the “Explore, Create, Innovate: 4-H Steam Activities-Environmental Science” initiative. This program will be presented by Alex Gstalder-Armstrong, a 4-H educator with Penn State Extension – Lycoming County.

Did you know there are eight species of owls in Pennsylvania? Participants will explore the unique characteristics of Barn, Snowy, and Great Horned owls through hands-on observation of skulls and talons.

The session will also include a short, engaging activity to reinforce what’s been learned about these fascinating birds.

A rare fossil has vanished from the paleontology exhibit! If you are 5 to 15 years old, you can use forensic science to uncover the culprit.

In this hands-on investigation, students will perform chemical analyses, use UV lights and chromatography to detect clues. Students will connect their lab results with clues left at the scene to identify who is responsible for the theft.

This interactive event is presented by the Bloomsburg Children's Museum.

Wednesday June 10th was our 2026 Trout Release Day! What a great time we had! Families and our partners released 148 trout that we got as eggs earlier this year. Each child released a fish into the stream, enjoyed some fishing games, and learned a lot about Trout.

We want to give a big shout-out to our partners:
River Valley Transit, Susquehanna Chapter of Trout Unlimited, Consolidated Sportsmen of Muncy Creek, Dayl McClintock, Carey Entz; Watershed Specialist & West Nile Virus Coordinator. We would also like to give a special thanks to our Teen Advisory Group (TAG) for making this event a success!
