Trellised almond orchards could serve as a cost-effective alternative to traditional staked orchards. Trellis wires are great for resisting high winds, are reusable between orchards, and do a fantastic job of keeping trees straight all the way down the row.

Switching from vine crops to almonds? You might already have the materials to make this a very affordable part of your orchard design!

Farm managers and rural appraisers from CalASFMRA joined Duarte Nursery to tour the Yorizane almond variety at the Duarte Dewitt Ranch, the VigorClone pistachio rootstock at the Duarte VigorClone trial, and our greenhouse facilities where we produce our clonal and containerized trees. It was a great opportunity to discuss advanced farming strategies and learn from the innovative minds of the industry.
