Upcoming Law Enforcement Training

On Wednesday, July 8, local law enforcement, fire services, and medical personnel will be conducting a joint training exercise at Hughson Elementary, Fox Elementary, and Ross Middle School between 6:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Community members can expect to see a noticeable presence of emergency vehicles and first responders in these areas. This event will not impact emergency services.

This free community event is an opportunity for residents to connect with local law enforcement, public safety personnel, community organizations, and neighbors while strengthening partnerships that help keep our community safe.

Say NO to Illegal Fireworks!

Celebrate responsibly this holiday season by leaving illegal fireworks out of the festivities. In the City of Hughson, the use, possession, or sale of illegal fireworks can result in fines starting at $1,000 and may lead to additional penalties.

Illegal fireworks pose serious risks to our community, including fires, injuries, property damage, and distress for pets, veterans, and neighbors. By choosing safe and legal ways to celebrate, you can help protect our residents, homes, and local resources.

If you witness the use or sale of illegal fireworks, please help keep Hughson safe by reporting the activity to our non-emergency line at 209-552-2468.

Fraudulent Calls Impersonating Sheriff's Office Demanding Money

We want to remind everyone that law enforcement agencies will never demand payment over the phone for any reason, including to clear a warrant or avoid arrest. These scams are designed to intimidate and exploit individuals into handing over large sums of money.

What to Do If You Receive a Suspicious Call:

1. Hang up immediately. Do not engage with the caller or provide any personal or financial information.
2. Call your local non-emergency line to report the incident. 209-552-2468.
3. Educate others. Share this warning with family, friends, and neighbors to help prevent them from becoming victims.

Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and skeptical of any unsolicited calls requesting payment or personal information.
