Yesterday, a larger page out occurred. A property owner's controlled burn escalated out of control, spreading to a larger acreage. Ricky Hill, Boggy Bruce, Frankie Heady, and Charles Motes responded with two grass rigs to support Grant Fire Department. Additional assistance was provided by Hugo FD, Sawyer FD, and Oklahoma Forestry.

Drought conditions continue to worsen across parts of Oklahoma! An area of ‘Extreme Drought’ (red) has appeared in Bryan County along with in parts of northeastern, north-central and southwestern parts of the state. No meaningful precipitation chances in the forecast for the foreseeable future. Be careful out there, fires could easily start.

The Bluff Fire Department received a call at 10:45 am to respond to a structure fire at 4210 Road, off Highway 109. Hugo Fire Department provided support to bring the fire under control. Thankfully, the residence was vacant.
