Portable (sheep, goat, and swine) scale available for use at the Lincoln County Extension Office.

The scale is available for use/pickup on a first-come basis by appointment only during office hours. The scale is on a garden trailer for transport.

*A $50 deposit is required and an equipment check-out sheet must be completed. *Please bring cash or check as we do not have a credit card machine.
*The scale must be disinfected according to the “Disinfectant Protocol Sheet” before it is returned to the office.
*A $50 late fee will apply if the scale is not returned on time.

*Non 4-H/FFA members may also rent the scale for $25/per day.

The scales at the fairgrounds to weigh cattle and other species are available as well by appointment only during office hours.

2026 Colorado 4-H Digital Photo Contest
Who Can Enter:
All Colorado 4-H members ages 8–18 and you do not need to be in the Photography project.

Photo Requirements:
Must be taken by the 4-H member
Photo must be taken during the current 4-H year
Submission Process:
Submit entries via the Colorado 4-H State FairEntry system.
Log in using your current 4-H Online family email and password.
Deadline: 📅 July 17

Winning Photos: 🏆 Displayed during the Colorado State Fair in the 4-H Exhibit Display Dining Hall

Cottage Food Safety Trainings Available All Year:

*Colorado Senate Bill 12-048 allows individuals to produce, sell and store certain types of “cottage food” products in an unlicensed home kitchen that are non-potentially hazardous and that do not require refrigeration.

The Colorado Cottage Food Act allows individuals to make and sell a limited range of foods, including spices, teas, dehydrated produce, nuts, seeds, honey, jams, jellies, preserves, fruit butter, flour, and baked goods, including candies, fruit empanadas, and tortillas.

Lincoln County Extension/4-H-> Horticulture Corner: New Master Gardener Volunteer & Gardening Resources

Colorado State University Extension Master Gardener volunteers are one of many volunteers types in Extension and 4-H. Master Gardeners go through extensive training to help individuals with their landscapes, flowers, and vegetable gardens. They work with Extension to provide resources and answer common questions about diseases, pests, what to plant and more.
