🧩 Autism Awareness Stickers Now Available! 💙
The City of Humble is proud to offer Autism Awareness Stickers designed to help improve communication, understanding, and safety during interactions between officers and individuals on the autism spectrum.
Parents and guardians can pick up a sticker and complete an information form with a recent photo and important details about their child. The sticker can be displayed on a family vehicle to help officers recognize that a child with autism may be involved during a traffic stop, may become lost, or may need assistance.
Together, we can build a safer, more understanding community and strengthen the partnership between families and law enforcement. 💙

🐾 K-9 JEFFREY’S NOSE STRIKES AGAIN! 🚔

What began as a welfare check quickly turned into an arrest and narcotics investigation.

Officer Trevino responded to the 7-Eleven gas station located at Rankin after receiving a report of a male found unconscious and slumped over near a BMW at the gas pumps. During the investigation, officers discovered the BMW was displaying license plates belonging to a different vehicle.

After ensuring the male was okay, officers identified him and learned he had an active warrant out of Harris County. The warrant was subsequently confirmed, and the male claimed ownership of the BMW.

That’s when K-9 Officer C. Haroun and K-9 Jeffrey were called in to assist.

After being given his narcotics command, K-9 Jeffrey conducted an open-air sniff around the BMW and provided a positive alert near the front passenger side of the vehicle.

Based on Jeffrey’s alert, officers conducted a probable cause search of the BMW, which resulted in the discovery of used needles containing suspected he**in residue and a baggie containing methamphetamine which was later confirmed by performing a field test kit.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted, and Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance – Penalty Group 1 charge was accepted.

From a welfare check to a narcotics arrest, K-9 Jeffrey’s nose helped officers uncover what was hiding in plain sight. 🐾🚔

Good nose Jeffrey. Great teamwork. 💪🐕‍🦺
