A weather warning has been issued for this weekend, prompting a call for caution and vigilance. Due to the variability in forecast predictions, including the GFS and Euro model, the exact snowfall totals for our area remain uncertain. Official predictions will be provided by the relevant authorities. In light of the anticipated extreme cold, residents are urged to prioritize safety, minimize travel, and prepare emergency kits with essentials such as layered clothing, coats, blankets, water, and other vital supplies. To avoid accidents, reduce speed or stay home, and be aware of potential hazards such as falls, frostbite, and other injuries. When outside, monitor temperature and wind chill values, and provide warmth, shelter, water, and food for pets. Support is available for pet owners who require assistance, including straw and other resources. Also, with the cold temperatures be sure to leave faucets dripping to avoid water line breaks. Take care.

For those who have asked, as of this posting date/time, we have about ten 'grandparents' left to adopt. These are elderly people who generally have no family visiting them during the holidays, and we want to bring a little cheer. Send us a PM if you would like to adopt one or more. Because you want to ask, but don't want to ask, most people are spending $15-$25 on their adoptee.

💖✨Started by Chief Moore and the Humboldt, Kansas Police Department during COVID to bring a bit of holiday cheer to those who might not otherwise have any, with her permission and pushed for by a motivated deputy from the Humboldt area, we have brought the Adopt-A-Grandparent holiday initiative back and are expanding it countywide!!

📧👉🏼Please send us a private message or email us the name, address, and list of a "grandparent's" wants or needs, to the best of your knowledge. We hope to keep this a holiday surprise for them. (Many times it is simple stuff like word searches, a blanket, socks, lotion, hot chocolate packets, puzzles, games, etc.)

📧👉🏼Private message or email us if you want to Adopt-A-Grandparent (one or more), and we will send you the name and list (not the address, as we have elves who will deliver). Shop, wrap, label, and drop off at the Sheriff's Office (or call us and we can collect when we patrol by).

🎅🏼🎄Our helpers will deliver your gift(s) the week of the 25th.🎁
