The kids had great fun with a "blind" taste of some things we have never had before. When the blindfolds came off they could choose which ones they wanted more of.

June Book Report:

The Things She Left Behind by Sarah Tiscareno

Lucian Rollins and Sloane Walton couldn't be more different, except when it comes to trust. Lucian comes from a wealthy family. His focus seems to be on making money and making enough trouble to stay in the tabloids.

Sloan Walton was raised with almost nothing. She is used to making her own way while trying to be invisible.

Lucian's life comes to a sudden change when he is cut off from his inheritance and has to live on a weekly allowance. He knows he has to at least make it look like he is pulling his life together to stay in his parent's good grace.

When Lucian hears Sloane making a phone call, he starts to put together a plan to impress his family and gain access to his inheritance again.

Sloane is more than shocked with Lucian's proposal. But it would be the answer to all of her problems. And it's only temporary.

Sloane and Lucian both have to overcome their lack of trust. Lucian has to learn he can't control everyone around him. Sloane has to learn she can't always find someone to blame when bad things happen.

It is hard for both of them to not only trust love but also believe in it until it's gone.

This book goes back and forth between Sloane and Lucian. You become familiar with both the main characters. I had a hard time putting it down. Just as I thought all was lost they ........

The first day of the Summer Reading Program was a success! Anna read The Bad Seed then talked about different wild flowers that are native to Iowa. The children made seed bombs then took them home to dry.

Children earned tickets for attendance and some completed their first challenge.

We had a great time and are excited for next week!
