Deepest condolences to family & friends of borough resident Clarence Stone.

Clarence Bruce Stone, Sr. of Hunker, passed away on April 2, 2026, at the age of 90 being the oldest living member of his family. He was born January 9, 1936, in Taylor County, W.Va. Just north of Grafton to Willis Arthur stone, sr. And Angie Oletha (Paugh) Stone in a log farmhouse during one of the coldest winters on record, the 2ND of 6 children. He grew up in the cheat neck area of Morgantown. Clarence served in the U.S. Army at fort Bragg, N.C. With the 82ND Airborne as an infantryman paratrooper from March 15, 1954, until March 14, 1957. Clarence was a truck driver for B&P Motor Express as well as a few other companies over the years and at one time was part owner of Allegheny Bedford express. He also co-owned Stone Truck Service and 130 road and repair with his son Bruce for over 12 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Betty Lou (Bennett) Stone; his daughter Robin leaf Lilliock, three brothers, Willis Arthur (Stoney) Stone, Jr., Roy Delane (D**k) Stone and Roger Ray (John) Stone, and his oldest grandson Dennis Clarence Yurcevich. He is survived by his sisters, Sigrid Garie (Siggy) (John) Williams and Karen Jane Bowers, his sons, C. Bruce (Marie) stone of Greensburg and Willis Talmage (Deborah) Stone of Sanford, N.C. And his daughter, Joetta (Joe) Lape of hunker. Clarence is also survived by his granddaughters, Angela (Shawn) McMillen and Brooke (Tim) kerns; grandsons, Ryan stone, Jared (Courtney) stone, Brett Slebodnik (Rachael), Dakota Busch (Kierra) and Jon Michael stone; and great grandchildren, Shelby and Audrina McMillen, Zoey and stone kerns, Brynlee Stone and Caden Slebodnik (due in June). A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, April 6 from 10 am to 1 pm., in the C. Richard McCauley Funeral Home inc. 101 S 4th Street, Youngwood. Interment will follow in Saint Paul Seanor Cemetery with Military rites accorded by the Armbrust Veteran's Association. The family would like to thank the staff of Interim Healthcare and Interim Hospice as well as the private caregivers for the compassion and care you provided to dad and our family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to a charity of your choice.
