Effective at 8 a.m. tomorrow, Friday, April 24, the burn ban will be lifted in the areas along the Guadalupe River previously labeled as β€œaffected” by the July 4, 2025, flooding disaster.

While the ban has been lifted since April 3 in the unaffected areas across the rest of the county, this marks the first time the affected areas have had the ban lifted since the flood.

Rest assured, this decisions was made only after thoughtful deliberation and cooperative discussions with our state and federal partners in disaster recovery, including those in charge of search and recovery.

Not only has there been sufficient rainfall recently, but 9 months of careful searching of the debris has been conducted before these areas have been cleared.

As a reminder, anyone who lives in the affected area and who now plans to burn brush and vegetative debris – please first notify your nearest local volunteer fire department and the Kerr County Sheriff’s Office.
