We wanted to take a moment to share a somber but important update with all of you. One of our officers, Lt. Andrew Dempski, recently faced a truly tragic event — a house fire that has left the Dempski family without their home. Lt. Dempski has been a pillar of our community, tirelessly serving and protecting us day in and day out. He has worked for HPD for more than 25 years.
Now the Dempski family and their loved ones need our support. We can't imagine the heartache and loss they must be going through, having lost their home and possessions in this devastating fire. But it's moments like these where our community can truly shine, showing our unwavering support and unity. Two of Lt. Dempski's sons work for the Town of Huntersville as well.
Many of you have reached out to offer help, so we are trying to facilitate and streamline those efforts by getting the word out about how you can utilize the proper channels to provide support if you wish to do so. Right now, the Dempski Family needs gift cards to local restaurants, big box stores, or Visa money cards. If you wish to donate these items, they can be dropped off at our PD headquarters, located at 9630 Julian Clark Avenue.
In addition, a GoFundMe account has been set up by one of Lt. Dempski's outside family members. This is linked below.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Dempski family during this trying time. Stay strong. The community is here for all of you.
