Located in Huntersville, NC, Long Creek is a K–5 Creative Arts Magnet School proudly serving both neighborhood families and those from the CMS Violet Zone.

Our Mighty Mustang staff is ready for an amazing 2026–2027 school year! We’re excited to introduce the incredible people who make Long Creek Elementary such a special place for our students and families. Swipe through to meet our staff by grade level and role. School starts soon! North Carolina law requires students to have current immunizations and proof of vaccination or an approved exemption. New NC public school students must also provide a health assessment. Health assessments and immunization records/exemptions are due by September 23. Please contact your healthcare provider or local health department if needed. See ParentSquare for the link to CMS Health and Wellness resources.

The Long Creek Elementary staff looks forward to welcoming our Mighty Mustang families to Open House for the 2026-2027 school year! Open House is scheduled for Thursday, August 20th; see the Open House Schedule below.

Open House Schedule
4:00 to 4:45 PM: New Family Meeting (All new families) | Learn more about our school and what to expect for the upcoming year. Following the meeting, families are invited to explore the building. New students in grades 1 through 5 will also have an opportunity to meet their classroom teacher.
4:30 to 5:15 PM: Open House for 1st and 2nd Grade
5:15 to 6:00 PM: Open House for 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade

Please note that kindergarten classrooms will not be open during Open House. Kindergarten families will have a separate Meet the Teacher and classroom visit on August 28.

We can’t wait to see everyone and kick off another great school year!

Ride on up to our drive-thru Gallop & Go Packet Pickup to grab your student’s back-to-school packet. You will receive class placement information and school news. Choose the date that works best for you. Please use the bus lot entrance via Hedrick Circle for the pick up line. Staff will greet you at your car and provide your packet.

Schedule: 4:00–4:45 PM New Family Meeting, 4:30–5:15 PM Grades 1–2, 5:15–6:00 PM Grades 3–5. Kindergarten families will attend Meet the Teacher on August 28. We look forward to seeing everyone and kicking off another great school year!
