UPDATE: Power was restored at 12:23 pm.

There is currently a power outage affecting the Gilead Road/US 21 intersection, Rosedale, Downtown and surrounding areas, so traffic lights are not operational. Huntersville Police Department officers are directing traffic. The cause of the outage is a broken cross arm on Duke Energy’s transmission lines that supply power to the area. Crews are working hard to restore power and expect it to be restored soon. We will update this post with more details when possible and/or when power is restored.

Big thanks to our Town’s Adopt-A-Street Volunteers! Huntersville American Legion Post 321 adopted Main Street between Huntersville-Concord Road and Bigham Street in Sept. of 2023. They’ve been working diligently to keep this area clean for the benefit of all of us. The Town appreciates their efforts to keep Huntersville a beautiful place to thrive.

⚠️ New Traffic Pattern ⚠️

On Central Avenue from Dellwood Drive to Holbrooks Road in Pottstown, there is now a center lane and speed humps for drivers. And there are dashed advisory shoulders for walkers and bicyclists.

People walking and cycling have the right of way in the advisory shoulders. Drivers should use the center lane and only move into the advisory shoulders if passing an oncoming car AND no bicyclists or walkers are present.

This new traffic pattern is formalizing what drivers, walkers and cyclists have already been doing for one another. We appreciate your patience and understanding as everyone adjusts to the new traffic pattern.
