Stacy Phillips Huntersville Commissioner

Really proud of Olde Huntersville Historic Society, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 321 - Huntersville, NC, and all the residents of Huntersville that organized, contributed, and volunteered at the food drive today for Caterpillar Ministries and Angels and Sparrows Soup Kitchen. Beyond grateful to call Dan Boone and Lance Munger for Huntersville Town Commissioner my fellow commissioners, but most of all friends; they were unloading donations for citizens.
If you weren't able to make it today, I'm sure there will be more opportunities in the future to support these two amazing groups.
Thanks to all my neighbors for contributing too.

Legion's call to Congress: Pass the VA Mission Act of 2018
Take Action!

Call Your Member of Congress Now

(May 15, 2018) The House of Representatives is about to vote on a bill that would provide essential services to disabled pre-9/11 veterans. S. 2372, also known as the VA MISSION Act, would expand the Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) Comprehensive Family Caregiver Program to veterans injured in service before September 11, 2001. This bill would also consolidate and reform VA’s community care programs, as well as provide for the realignment and modernization of VA’s healthcare infrastructure.

You can read more about it here:

We need to support S. 2372 and have Congress vote YES on this bill.

Call Your Representative

There is some opposition to this legislation so your quick action can make the difference. Call now and tell your representative to support the "VA Mission Act of 2018." You can find your representative’s phone number by entering your zip code at https://ziplook.house.gov/htbin/findrep_house?ZIP or by calling the congressional switchboard at (202) 224-3121; (press 2 for House).

You can use this script to talk to the staffer you are connected with:

For Veterans/Caregivers/Family Members:

Hello, my name is [your name] and I live in Rep. [name] district. My address is [your address].

I am calling to urge Rep. [name] to vote YES on S. 2372.

As a veteran/caregiver/family member, this legislation would make needed changes by consolidating and reforming VA’s community care programs, as well as providing for the realignment and modernization of VA’s health care infrastructure. This bill would also expand VA’s comprehensive caregiver program to provide eligibility for veterans injured before September 11, 2001, and offer enhanced support for their caregivers.

If Rep. [name] wants to help veterans and caregivers, there is no better way than to support this legislation.

Please tell Rep. [name] that this constituent wants them to vote YES on S. 2372, the VA MISSION Act of 2018, and encourage them to pass this veteran-centric bill as soon as possible.

Thanks for your continuing support of The American Legion and America's injured and ill veterans, their families and caregivers.

Visit the United States Postal Service web site to determine your +4 zip code extension and then return to our site to find your Represenative.
