Troop 200 October Campout – Camp Daniel Boone! 🍂

Troop 200 is heading to Camp Daniel Boone in Canton, North Carolina, for our October camping weekend, with our campsite reserved in Arrowhead Upper. https://www.campdanielboone.org/

This should be an outstanding fall weekend in the mountains. Camp Daniel Boone sits on approximately 700 acres surrounded by Pisgah National Forest and the Shining Rock Wilderness, and Arrowhead offers fantastic views toward Cold Mountain.

🍁 Fall Colors!
Our trip falls on the weekend of October 17, which is typically an excellent time for fall foliage in the North Carolina mountains. Mid-October is often when higher elevations around Pisgah National Forest and the Waynesville area are showing some of their best color. We should be in for some beautiful mountain scenery!

🥾 What can Scouts look forward to?

Camp Daniel Boone is known for outdoor adventure and offers access to hiking trails throughout the property and surrounding mountains.

For our weekend, expect plenty of time for:
• Hiking and exploring Camp Daniel Boone
• Scout skills and outdoor activities
• Patrol cooking and teamwork
• Campfires and fellowship
• Exploring the Arrowhead and Boonesboro areas
• Enjoying the streams, mountain views, and fall scenery
• And, most importantly, spending a great weekend together as a troop!

🏕️ Arrowhead Upper Campsite

Arrowhead is one of the larger and better-equipped areas at Camp Daniel Boone, with permanent pavilions, shower/restroom facilities, cabins, tent platforms, and views of Cold Mountain. It should make an excellent home base for Troop 200.

⏰ IMPORTANT DEPARTURE INFORMATION

Scouts need to be at the Troop 200 Hut promptly by Friday October 16th at 5:00 PM.

🚙 We will depart at 5:30 PM SHARP.

Troop 200 will be joining members of Ramah Presbyterian Church for a Rise Against Hunger meal-packing event on Saturday, October 10, 2026 at 9:30 AM.

This is a great opportunity for Scouts and families to put service into action by helping package meals for people in need around the world.

Working side by side with members of Ramah Church, volunteers will measure ingredients, fill meal packages, seal boxes, and prepare meals for distribution to communities facing hunger.

Tonight’s meeting, 7/28/26, is canceled due to pending severe weather. A significant line of thunderstorms will be impacting the metro during our previously scheduled meeting. Out an abundance of caution, we will be canceling tonight’s meeting to ensure the safety of our scouts.
