👀💙 Child Vision Awareness Month 💙👀

Healthy vision plays a large role in how children from birth through age five learn, explore, and connect with the world around them. 💛 During Child Vision Awareness Month, we’re shining a light on the importance of early eye care and regular vision checks.

Clear vision helps little learners enjoy books, recognize faces, build coordination, and get ready for school success.

Here are a few ways families can support healthy vision:
👁️ Schedule regular eye screenings and checkups for your child
📚 Watch for signs like squinting, eye rubbing, or sitting too close to screens or books
🌈 Encourage outdoor play, which supports healthy eye development
🧴 Protect eyes with hats or child-safe sunglasses when outdoors
🖼️ Read books with large, colorful pictures to engage developing eyes

There’s something magical about a blanket, a sunny spot, and a basket full of simple treats! 💛 Today we’re celebrating International Picnic Day with ideas for making picnics fun, safe, and age-appropriate for young children.

Crunchy, colorful, and full of goodness; fresh vegetables help little bodies grow strong and healthy! 💚 Today, we’re celebrating all the fun ways children can explore healthy foods through taste, touch, color, and play.

Trying new veggies can be an adventure for young children, especially when families make it fun together! 🌈

Here are a few veggie-tastic ideas:
🥒 Let your child help pick out vegetables at the store

🇺🇸 This year, America celebrates its 250th birthday, marking two and a half centuries of opportunity, innovation, and the belief that every person deserves a chance to build a better future.

As we reflect on what makes our country unique, we're also celebrating 61 years of Head Start.

For generations, Head Start has helped children arrive at school ready to learn, supported parents as they pursue education and careers, and strengthened communities across the nation. It is one of the many investments that help make the American dream possible by giving children and families the opportunity to succeed.

As we approach Independence Day and America's 250th anniversary, we're collecting stories that show the impact Head Start has had on individuals, families, and our country.
