Imagine not ever volunteering, campaigning, nor giving solutions for the city of HB “I care deeply about”.

His penchant for running for multiple seats concurrently is a classic case of schizophrenia, or is it narcissism?

We fear if he were to get a speeding ticket, he may demand to be chief of police!

Light a candle, and he can take over Fire Chief !

City Treasurer or Finance Director, Burley may come after you—-he knows how to write a check!

“Burley said he is running for Congress because conservatives in his district “needed a responsible elected official to step up and run.”

“And he is running for City Council, too, because of the city’s ongoing budget concerns, Burley said.”

“I care deeply about my city and I won’t allow it to fail — that’s why I also filed to run for City Council,” he said.

Ultimately, Burley’s dual candidacy may be exposing a loophole in state election law, says a constitutional and elections law expert.

Those low flying jets this week are a loud reminder that some of our sitting council and former city attorney (running for CA Attorney General—the irony!) were fined recently for not declaring ‘gift’ passes from Pacific Airshow promoter Kevin Elliot.

You can’t make this stuff up!

Mayor Casey McKeon, former mayor and CC member Pat Burns, former mayor and CC member Gracey Van Der Mark, and former city attorney Michael Gates were all this year fined by FPPC!

The CA Fair Political Practices Commission fined our Mayor McKeon and Pat Burns the most —at $700!

Close behind at $600 for Michael Gates, followed by Gracey Van Der Mark at $100.

Former HB Mayor Tony Strickland taught them well. He had a $80,000 FPPC violation years ago that he negotiated down to $40,000 in exchange for accepting responsibility!

All are candidates for November 3.
