GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement, unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world. While GivingTuesday happens every Tuesday, the annual celebration of generosity will happen on December 2, 2025. We invite you to join us in making a difference in the lives of underserved women and girls by generously donating to Soroptimist International of Huntington Beach.
Soroptimist International of Huntington Beach (SIHB), since its inception in November 1963, has been positively impacting the lives of women and girls who face obstacles to success through access to education, training and mentorship.
We have witnessed firsthand and have gotten to know these women and girls who have overcome extreme obstacles, like human trafficking, domestic or familial abuse, incarceration, poverty and homelessness to become productive citizens and role models to others. It all begins with our belief in their journeys to achieve self-sufficiency.
Because of the generosity of our sponsors and donors this past year, SIHB:
-Gave educational Live Your Dream cash grants of $1,500 to 14 women;
-Delivered two Dream It, Be It Programs to girls, ages 11-18, who face obstacles to success;
-Hosted 24 women to a Day of Empowerment, complete with shopping at the Huntington Beach Assistance League Thrift Store, personal care services by Mary Kay consultants, an educational workshop, lunch provided by Jersey Mike’s, a “swag bag” and offsite, licensed childcare.
-Gave scholarships to 2 women attending local community colleges, and 1 to a Huntington Beach High School girl;
-Adopted 4 moms for our Soroptimist year, assisting them with monthly essential non-food items, unexpected expenses, college admission fees and more.
Our challenge continues: Women and girls need our help and your help now more than ever!
