Read with Someone You Love Day & Book Donation Drive 💗📕 This Monday, February 10th, families are invited into the building for Read with Someone You Love Day! The event will take place in classrooms from 7:30-8:15. Any grown-up is invited to join their student for coffee, pan dulce, and reading time. We will also be hosting a book donation drive in support of Children's Books for Alta Dena. We are collecting NEW children’s picture books to donate directly to schools and students that lost their libraries in the Eaton Fire. Books for donation can be dropped in the lobby on your way into our Read with Someone You Love event. Everyone who attends will receive a ticket to participate in our random drawing for a chance to win a basket of books. Those who donate a picture book will receive an additional ticket to enter in the drawing.

Fall break will be from Monday, November 25, to Friday, November 29. We hope you all enjoy the time with your loved ones. We wish you a happy Thanksgiving from the KIPP Comienza family to yours. We will welcome our students back on Monday, December 2. Our Main office will be open Monday, November 25, and Tuesday, November 26, from 9 to 3 p.m. to support families as needed.

KIPP Comienza Community Prep is a high-performing elementary school in Huntington Park, CA. We are now enrolling 5th grade for the coming 2016-17 school year. We will continue to add a grade level each year until it's fully grown serving grades K-8 by 2019-20.
