Join us as we welcome our new 6th grade science teacher, Bethany Forbes. Get to know a little bit about Mrs. Forbes and her journey to us at Huntington Middle School:
“My name is Bethany Forbes, and I am excited to join the 6th grade team as a science teacher. I graduated from Marshall University in 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.
Originally from Wayne County, West Virginia, my passion for education began while working with Energy Express in Wayne County for three summers. In addition to helping students strengthen their reading skills, I enjoyed leading STEM activities that encouraged curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving, helping spark my passion for science education.
After graduating from Marshall, I became a substitute teacher in both Putnam and Cabell counties before serving as a long-term substitute in 6th grade at Huntington East Middle School. Most recently, I taught 5th grade at Spring Hill Elementary, where I enjoyed building relationships with students and families while helping students grow both academically and personally.
I am married to my husband, Seth, and together we have a two-year-old son, Graham.”
